Current status of SOLAS planning

The 4th SOLAS Ireland workshop will be held in December 2008 and brings together the community of researchers conducting SOLAS-related activities. Proceedings from the previous two years can be found attached.

Although there is no formal SOLAS funding mechanism established by any of the national funding agencies (Environmental Protection Agency, Marine Institute), there have been several projects funded which are close to the SOLAS objectives:

- Impacts of Increased Atmospheric CO2 on Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems

- Exchange at the Air-Sea Interface: Air Quality & Climate Impacts

More information regarding the Ireland network will be available follwing the meeting in December 2008.
