SOLAS textbook now available!
The Surface Ocean Lower Atmosphere Processes textbook has just been published. The book covers the subjects that are taught as the SOLAS summer schools. It is available to order from the AGU website.

Calls for proposals

SCOR Working Groups
Proposals for working groups are being accepted between now and 14 April 2010 and decisions will be made at the 2010 SCOR General Meeting (14-16 September 2010). More information.

Host for SCOR/IOC/IGBP 3rd Symposium on The Ocean in a High CO2 World
Bids to host the Symposium in 2012 should be submitted by 30 April 2010. See guidelines.

Ocean research infrastructure for 2030
NSF's Committee on "An Ocean Infrastructure Strategy for US Ocean Research in 2030" is seeking for input from the oceanographic community. Deadline 31 January 2010. More information

NF-POGO Centre of Excellence in Observational Oceanography Training Programme at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS). Deadline 1 February 2010.
This is a 10-month programme starting in August 2010, aimed at young researchers, particularly from developing countries. More information...

Microbial Oceanography Summer Course: Genomes to Biomes at the University of Hawaii, 31 May - 10 July 2010. Deadline 29 January 2010.
This course is offered to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars with an interest in marine microbiology and biological oceanography. More information...

SCOR Visiting Scholars-deadline approaching! (31 January 2010)
SCOR is seeking individuals interested in serving as SCOR Visiting Scholars in 2010 and institutions
in developing countries who are interested in hosting a Visiting Scholar.
SCOR's programme covers all areas of ocean science, but not observations or modelling. Read more.
