SOLAS Newsletter

SOLAS News is a biannual newsletter reporting the scientific highlights and progress of SOLAS. It is also intended as a space where the SOLAS community can discuss hot topics of the day and is mailed free of charge to anyone who requests it.

Issue 7

Issue 7 of the SOLAS Newsletter brings into focus the research from scientists all over the world and also features a special report from the k- conundrum workshop which occurred in Norwich February 2008 (meeting minutes downloadable from http://cost-735.org/meetings/meetings.html). A special highlight from the past (Peter Liss) and present (Doug Wallace) SOLAS chairs give insight into the future directions of SOLAS. Announcements about the SOLAS Summer School 2009 featured.

ISSUE SIX - February 2008

ISSUE THREE


SOLAS Newsletter Issue 3
Issue three contains articles which focus on the SOLAS Focus 1: Biogeochemical Interactions and Feedbacks between Ocean and Atmosphere. The Objective of Focus 1 is to quantify the feedback mechanisms involving biogeochemical coupling across the air-sea interface- only truly achieved when studying the ocean and atmosphere in concert. This issue also includes national reports from 10 SOLAS countries; related project briefs; and, a focus on the SOLAS Scientific Steering Committee; along with the first announcement poster for the SOLAS Open Conference in Xiamen, China, due to take place between 6-9th March, 2007.

Issue two contains articles based on presentations given at the May 2005 Liège Colloquium on Ocean Dynamics: Gas Transfer at Water Surfaces, a report from the SOLAS Summer School, which ran in Corsica in September, and reports from national SOLAS projects and partner programmes, as well as the now traditional SOLAS crossword!
