    • The University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNLOS) published a White Paper on Operating in Foreign Ports and Foreign Waters along with an appendix on Detailed Recommendations and Considerations for Working in Foreign Ports and Obtaining Marine Science Research Clearances.   • Funding opportunities

    • SCOR will be supporting five Visiting Scholars in 2018. Submit an application for the 2018 SCOR Visiting Scholars Program by 15 November 2017. More details here.

    • BiodivERsA and Belmont Forum announced the 2017-2018 international call for research proposals on Scenarios of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. The deadline for pre-registration is 1 December 2017. More information on the call here.

    • The Ocean Carbon and Biogeochemistry (OCB) Program is soliciting proposals for activities that will take place during 2018. Submit a proposal by 1 December 2017. More details see here.

    • The European Commission has published the new call for Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN) under Horizon 2020. The deadline is 17 January 2018. More information here. Download the guide for applicants here.

    • ERC call for Consolidator Grants for excellent researchers at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Funding is provided for five years and can amount to a maximum EUR 2 million. The deadline is 15 February 2018. More information are available here.

    • Interreg Baltic Sea Region Opens Call for Applications for Project Platforms. The budget can be up to EUR 1 million and in total 4-6 platforms are expected to be funded. More details here. Submit an abstract by 28 February 2018 here.
  • Miscellaneous

    • CLIVAR is looking for an intern, working in Qingdao, China, from April 2018. More information on duties, required qualifications and salary on the CLIVAR website. The closing date for applications is 20 December 2017. The length of the internship will be 6 months.
