  • The 2019 SCOR visiting Scholars Programme is open to any scientists who have time available to spend teaching and mentoring in a developing country for two weeks or more. Applications should be sent to here by 14 December 2018.

James Drummond was awarded the Martin Bergmann Medal

The iCACGP Scientific Secretary James Drummond was awarded the Martin Bergmann Medal by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society for his exceptional contributions to Arctic research, science, and leadership.
His contributions in furthering Arctic research include his establishment of PEARL (Polar Environment Atmospheric Research), the globally-recognised Arctic flagship observatory that has contributed to a significant body of research.

    • The Ocean Carbon and Biogeochemistry (OCB) is seeking proposals for OCB-relevant activities. Submit workshop proposals electronically to the OCB Project Office by December 3, 2018. More information here.
  • Miscellaneous

    • SOOSmap is a new portal for finding circumpolar, internationally curated datasets of observations, developed by the Southern Ocean Observing System. Check it here.
    • The US CLIVAR Scientific Steering Committee seeks qualified individuals to serve on its three subsidiary panels beginning in 2019. Nominations or self-nominations are due 7 January 2019. More information here.
    • The US CLIVAR and OCB invite participations in a survey of the US GO-SHIP program. The US GO-SHIP program is an affiliate of international GO-SHIP, which performs global ship-based decadal surveys to collect, document, and store high precision and full depth hydrographic and biogeochemical data from the global ocean. Please fill out the survey by 7 December 2018 here.
