DMS climatology - Data submission

There is a project underway that aims to update the surface ocean DMS climatology using the up-to-date DMS database held at PMEL -see here for more details.  The initial stages have been completed and the results (based on data currently in the database) are certainly interesting.  However, in order to finalise the product and finish the project we need to set a deadline for data submission (in fact some people with new data have already asked for one!).

In many ways, "the sooner the better" is often the most appropriate timescale for everyone as it gets it done and off your desk.  However, if you need a final deadline and want your data to be included in the final analysis, please submit your data to the database by the 30th September (2008).  No extension beyond this deadline can be given.

As before, please let Tom Bell (Thomas.Bell@uea.ac.uk) know if you have data you intend to submit.

In particular, we have been surprised to find that currently the database currently contains almost no data from some areas of the western Pacific and literally no data in some parts of the Indian Ocean.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Tom Bell (Thomas.Bell@uea.ac.uk - SOLAS Project Integrator).
